OS X Stickies

Looks like the configuration of the program is in the plist, but the actual stuff you put into stickies is at ~/Library/.StickiesDatabase

OS X Stickies

You're SURE there's no file called com.apple.Stickies.plist in your ~/Library/Preferences folder? (Just to reiterate, and apologies if I'm insulting your intelligence, but we are talking the Preferences folder in your Library folder in your Home directory). It's certainly not impossible that Stickies could keep its data files in the application bundle, but it seems at least...

10.1 performance on Pismo 500

I really have to disagree. As soon as you really start working with Mac OS X 10.1, you start having many applications open. *Because* the operating system multitasks well and organizes its memory well, there is no need to quit a Carbon or Cocoa application like there was in OS 9. It's much faster to just keep it in the background and let OS X handle it than to quit the app and...

Lots of apps

Okay here's my computer running every app I have installed. I should have installed Office too, but I don't use it and I don't need MS bloatware crashing Classic and ruining my fun. One note, the system ran fine with all of this going on. Launching an app was slow, but working in a currently running app was painless and quick. Here's a list of what I had running. I'd...

Stickies?

If you show invisible files, you will see a file called something like .stickies in your home folder. I'm not sure, but it probably holds the notes.

Open app not visible in dock?

This hack does work.. but it still isn't the complete solution. The problem with this hack is that it puts the application into permanent background mode.. meaning that no keystrokes can go to it... So doing this to Stickies, for example, is a bad idea, since you wouldn't be able to type to it... Any other ideas anyone??? Quote "www.macosxhints.com" ...

Mac OS X + 8600/300

Hi all! Just wanted to too you about some of my experiences after installing X onto my 8600/300. First, the instructions and necessary files posted by Ryan Rempel at http://homepage.mac.com/ryanrempel are probably one of the coolest thigns anyone has done with or for X yet. My 8600 is all stock Apple hardware, no PCI cards, 128 MB RAM, 4 MB VRAM, and the 300MHz 604e...
