Stuffit

Lately we installed Stuff It Deluxe 7.0 on two Mac G4 with OS 9.2 working (in the French localized version...) Since then, the 2 CPU are in Hell it started with a weird behavior at boot time, while launching the start up App... ICQ, Launch; and few other utilities... The finder behaved like if the key Alt was always down... hiding the apps, when not asked to do so, and...

I'll give it a try. Stuffit Standard 7.0 won't install either. When OS 9 boots up and from the Norton CD it say there is something wrong with the built in memory. Runs fine in X though

Found a thread on this over at the discussions board @ Apple. The thread is available here. I hope you have not reinstalled yet... I think the problem is related to de-archiving with the latest version of StuffIT. But thats just my personal hunch...

Well, they officially posted it, I know they did a little while back but they pulled it because a ton of people where having problems. Jason, Yep, I think it is a MS plot, but I can't prove it. I've had (and seen others express) this complaint for some time time. I tried several of those "This worked for me" solutions, but they never would hold. Then, I developed my not so elegant solution. I feel like it is using a twenty-pound sledge hammer to kill a fly, but, as I said, none of the other solutions...

great! now a bunch of my programs won't open. adium, stuffit, itunes, quicktime, and others. hooray for apple! i'm SO HAPPY about all of this. ^_^.

If you didn't package them up with Stuffit or Disk Copy or something similar, then all of the resource forks probably got dumped. Unfortunately, there's really no way to get them back. ...

SO's but I don't think anything exists like that for DMG's. So if someone wants to make some software that's what me need. A DMG tool that works like WinISO or Stuffit Deluxe were we can add, delete, move around files in an image without corrupting it. ...

If you use .zip, then the Mac should be able to unstuff it with the latest version of Stuffit Expander. ...
