I set my screen's resolution to 800x600 in order to play a newly downloaded game demo (Jets N'Guns). The screen went black and will not reset after trying many things: - restarting - resetting pram and nvram via command keys Apple-option-p-r - trying to go into single user mode to access something (anything!) - going into open firmware mode and typing the commands reset...

Leopard probably _would_ work on your model, but you'd have to trick the installation, because the official requirements include a 867 MHz G4 processor. Tiger retail is still officially available at the Apple Online Store sometimes (it seems). Can buy anywhere (ebay), but it's really, really important to make sure it's the retail version, since any other version won't work.

Where can I get a retail version of this software, without having to pay an arm and a leg? Or, will Lepard work on a G4 Dual 800 Quicksilver with 1.5 gb of ram?

Seatubes wouldn't work, said there was no internet connection, Apple Update said the same thing, but I had no trouble whatsoever with sites like this one, YouTube, BBC, plus several others.
