Oh no, you didn't buy a mini-DVD camcorder, did you? Mini-DVD camcorders are not intended for users who want to edit their footage. They are meant for people who want to record their child's dance recital, pop it out of the camcorder, and pop it into the DVD player for the grandparents. Mini-DVD records in MPEG-2, an output format. It is not meant to be edited. However,...

usual noises and the blue light goes on and remains steady, so I am not sure whether the LaCie controllers have gone, whether the controller on the hard disk is toast or if the power brick is underperforming. ...

#1 Mikuro is spot on. Roxio Toast can also do it, and it's a little more user-friendly than trying to do it through Disk Utility, but it's also very expensive. Just though it was worth mentioning in case you have it/want it. #4, you can use iChat (included with OS X) to talk to people on MSN, but it's a little over-complicated. Here's the tutorial in case you're...

Open your Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) insert your flash drive. You should see a line showing the manufacturers info for your flash drive. Click on that line to select it. Click the Repair Disk button, or click on the erase tab, and then click the erase button, which will reinitialize your flash drive. DO NOT! choose any option to write zeroes to the...

I have a PowerPC G4, OS X 10.3.4. Everything was grand, until I tried burning a DVD-R of all my mp3's to free up some HD space. The write failed, with an 'unable to verify content' error (Toast) and after that the DVD drive wouldn't open. I would click the eject button and the eject icon would flash over the screen, but nothing would happen. So I rebooted, and after...

it will only burn a dual layer in an internal DL Superdrive. I should still be able to use the "Save as a Disk Image" option and then use Toast to make the DVD. However, when I tried the "Save as Disk Image" option, it still tells me that my file exceeds the maximum burning capacity. ...

I reciently have gotten a dvd burner for my TV, and I have hooked it up to my DVR. I have been trying to transfer episodes from my DVR to DVD. I have been burning them to DVD rewriteables and then copping them to my computer. I can just burn them with Toast, but I would like to edit out the comercials. How do I edit the files? What programs will do it. I have a MacMini with...

Is this maybe a Tiger issue? Or, as others are mentioning, a problem with the brand of CD-R's? I say this only because I have had no problems creating MP3 cd's with iTunes. Running Panther 10.3.9. As for pulling songs to the desktop, I find iTunes works just like iPhoto; any songs I drag to the desktop are automatically duplicates--no need to use the option key. Have...

Thanks Bob: I have read that article and it seems it may be "Toast" or software issues, but as usual, Mac-Fix_it offers no solutions. I too have a dual G-4 and am ready to upgrade to the newer 10.4.3, but always hesitant as when everything works now, why change> All long time Mac users know what I mean? Way back when Apple changed systems software and we all had to go...

PatchBurn is only to activate the drive in Finder & iLife applications. The drive should work out of the box both for playing video DVDs as well as to read DVD-ROMs. With Toast, you can also use it for burning. PatchBurn will add support in the mentioned applications.
