Beige PN G3 won't read burned cd's

i have an old Powrmac G3 im trying to get OSX onto for server duty yes, i know it's not officially supported for anything above 10.2.8 but im trying to burn Xpost Facto 4 onto cd, so i can install it but it won't read burned cd's! i burned OS9 just fine, as well as the 9.2.2 updates any tips? i burn using Toast 7

DVD Problem max 4x

Hi all, My dvd player/writer only writes at a speed of 4x max. But my dvd player/writer has a max of 8x. I'm using Toast 7 (Toast 6 had the same problem). Is there any way to get it up again to 8x? Greetings from the Netherlands, DonReactor

Haven't Been Able to Write Cds Since Upgrading to Tiger

My original Matshushita CD-RW drive in my old G4 had problems with *some* particularly cheap disks. It would always read burned disks, done on other machines or in the Mats drive, but choked when asked to recognize a blank disk for burning from Finder. When I used Toast, I never had that problem. I agree with underdog - patchburn may not help, but it certainly won't hurt....

Great! Thanks for explaining that info. That cycle information is neat and I didn't know about it. I did look at the Apple site (Japan). I live in Japan and yes the prices have gone down a little.
