thanks fryke ill try handbreak, but I am not familiar with the program. If i read correctly handbreak will create an Mpeg4 file from the VIDEO_TS file, am i right? so the question is, can I burn an Mpeg4 clip on to a DVD-R and have it play in a DVD player using toast?

It would be best to test this on some cheap media first, as I can't guarantee it'll work, but as for the video DVD specification, it requires only a properly organized VIDEO_TS (always uppercase, but some DVDs work even with lowercase names), proper disk title (no spaces, all uppercase), and for it to be in UDF format. You cannot write to a DVD-ROM (The "RO" stands for "read only"). Did you mean DVD-RAM? Or DVD-R? Or DVD-RW?

Well, One thing is when I try to burn 3 .AVI files (Anime with subs) On a dvd, it works but I get no sound at all. And I've tried downloading different codecs and such, but none will get the sound to work at all. Another problem is, when I try to burn a dvd with just files, it burns all the way to the end and then gives me random errors, making the entire burn pointless....
