you can set this: http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14051&db=mac as your screen saver (it makes the screen go blank) and then if you want the monitor to go to sleep, just set that and it will sleep in 5 minutes. in the screen saver pref pane you can set it so that if you put the cursor in a certain corner the screen saver wil auto-start

does anyone recognize where my new avatar is from? It is the character from Slppy Sokoban - a game. i finally beat all 50 levels - despite swearing that several of them were impossible along the way. :lol: the new avatar is my celebration of this feat. i will probably bring the old one back when i grow the beard back in the fall. But since the character's name is Mr....

I've heard mixed reviews about VideoLan client. Some say it works, others say it doesn't. It's worth a shot.

I had a problem playing divx files on Mac (well still do actually). Yes you can get a codec for Quicktime but it Quicktime wont play the file like Media Player for M$ Win. People say Mplayer is good to play divx files but in my opinion its not that great... well it does play some files but most of the time it doesnt work. There was one more... cant remember the name but...

i was intrigued by this, so i searched VT for the plugin, and i found it: HERE IT IS. however after reading the reviews i am a bit hesitant to install it myself. i can live without a dancing dock. i just provided the link in case anyone else wants to try it out.
