My son is 4 and he loves playing the Marble Blast game that came with the iMac G5 we bought recently. I also have MAME installed and he plays some of the games on there (yes, I downloaded the ROMs...but you can't have them! :p). Using this updated Duplexer utility, you can set your G4's NIC to the desired speed. There is an older Duplexer utility released for the B/W G3's and some PowerBooks that will not work with the G4's.
