Your description of your "problem" is cryptic, at best. If someone here wants to help you, they should not be forced to guess about the basics of your problem. VPC has been reported to have issues with certain peripherals, but not application software. Exactly what does the "error report" say?

They had worked with Microsoft (bundling OSs etc.) for a couple of years before that, MS needed a virtual machine solution (the PC version of VirtualPC) and MS probably paid a good price. That works with Parallels as well, ScottW. But yes, VMware's version has yet to see a public beta on the Mac.

I installed WinXP under a partition created with BootCamp 1.02, is there a way to use Parallels or VMWare or any other program to to run WinXP at the same time as Mac OS X without creating a "Virtual Machine" and just using the partition created with BootCamp? ...

I google'd around trying to find a solution for a problem, which is: how to use virtualization software available for OS X when you don't want to create virtual disk rather - you'd like to use physical, real HDD attached to your Intel-based Mac by USB of Firewire? See the difference? Start a virtual system from a real drive with proper Windows on it... Just rip-off disk from...
