Windows Terminal Client

I used the patches and have it working perfectly. However I had to run it over VNC since I'm at work. That's a trick, use VNC to access the Mac from my Win2k box at work, and the Mac is running rdesktop to access my XP box on my home LAN. ...

Permissions error with Classic

Ok, I tried the permissions fixit script so graciously provided above, and it found all kinds of things that had been altered from the way they were when OS X was installed. Many of the missing files were the various foreign languages that I did not have OS X install, and most of the permissions problems were with Acrobat Reader and Internet Explorer. Apple Remote Desktop

This looks like the MacOS X version of ANAT, Apple Network Assistant, that mac administrators have been waiting for. It can't be compared to Timbuktu or VNC, since remote screen-controlling is just one of many features. Apple Remote Desktop!!!!!!!!

Netboot doesn't let you actually SEE the other screen. Netboot is for placing a disk image on a server, and having all the computers in a lab boot off of it. As for doing this cross platform, an exelent tool for it is called VNC. VNC works with Mac OS X, OS9, Linux, FreeBSD, and even Windows. Client and server. Its free, too. I'll post a url tomorrow or some time.

Windows Terminal Client

desktop to compile and run, it was unusable because the keyboard mapping is completely wrong. I had found a working copy of it, but it was a part of some sort of VNC application. I lost track of where I got the app from and where I installed it to. I'll let you know when I find it! ...

I think I may switch to the Mac, but I have some questions...

t there are a couple of Win XP features that I've come to really like. One is Remote Desktop, which is basically Windows Terminal services. It's MUCH better than VNC or PC Anywhere, and is built it. I've heard something about a similar Apple product, but I don't know the details. ...
