Do you have Retrospect installed? I would think it comes with an editor if it has special needs for it. (otherwise I'd probably just use vim or e.g. Smultron) http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13108 http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/0,1000000375,39178537s,00.htm http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/0,1000000375,39178888s,00.htm

There are some third party FLAC plugins and programs. You need to pick your poison. If the FLAC plugin is a QuickTime plugin then iTunes SHOULD play the file. However the iPod is a closed system and there is no way (short of reformatting the older iPod with iPod Linux) so Apple lossless or the raw file is your best bet.

That is called a Kernel Panic and that usually means hardware problems. Sometimes really bad plugins/hackies can cause panics but as i said before is usually is a hardware problem. Make sure you do NOT have any Application Enhancer models installed at all. Those hackies have been playing havoc with Leopard! Plus what does logs say is wrong (/Applications/Utilities/Console)?

Adding a task for it in cron's daily or weekly would do it, easiest way to add it would be with Cronnix. Or you could do an AppleScipt to run it weekly, or make an Automator action and add both to run daily or weekly... Is this on 10.4 or 10.5 Server?

Well try to use the shareware Pacifist and get the application from the install disk with it. Just after you get the Address Book run Software Update to update the application.
