Just use an encrypted Disk image explained by Apple here. Then use a program of your choice to make that file invisible. Just remember to exclude that file (before you make it invisible) from Spotlight so it doesn't get backed up, unencrypted. The best policy is is to be insane and abnormally paranoid when it comes to laptops.:eek:

There are several utilities that claim to be able to combine partitions non-destructively back into one partition.
