Not the Pro version, but I have had no trouble at all with the full "sponsored" Eudora (not the Lite version). Upgraded from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10 a while back. Wow, great post. I've been using both PCs and Macs my entire life. I don't want to try and steer you one way over the other, because both have advantages. On one hand - if you go the PC route, much cheaper! ...lol!.
