If the print dialog's "layout" isn't your problem, fire up Printer Setup, hi-lite the printer, and click the Info button. The drop-down will likely have three entries, the last being for "installable options." Tell the fool thing you have a duplex unit. It might be the letter designator for "feature set."

Native to OSX is "archive." It makes/expands ZIP files. Hi-lite the file/folder of interest and select the option from the "file" menu. Stuffit is the gold standard, able to handle all manner of compression schemes, but it costs.

i've got an AVI movie file that i'm trying to burn as a video-DVD. i'm using a G4 powerbook with 10.3.4, and toast 6 lite, with a lacie porsche dvdburner....the file is about 103 minutes long, and size is 1.25 gigs.
