This appears to answer a question I have posted recently - where all of a sudden my classic has stopped working. After following the above it appears the Mac OS9 Drivers can no longer be found - is there a way of putting them back on withouth having to clear and reinstall everything? thanks

Apple has never released the system on DVD+RW. I assume before answering that somehow, you made a legal backup of a system disc with a valid license. I think you need Classic's System Folder and Applications OS9 folders in the HD root directory, not in its Applications folder. I *know* your HD must have OS9 drivers installed. Launch Disk Util, click on your HD to hi-lite it, then click the blue Info button. If the entry for Mac OS9 Drivers Installed is "no," you've some work to do. As in start afresh initializing...
