i am trying to get my Tiscali broadband account to work on a MacBook2,1 Intel Core 2 Duo iusing the Siemens SE587 router

i am non techy

the internet works pluging in a cable direct from the router. it does not work
when i try to connect to the internet wirelessly

i'm using firefox, same router. i have a MacBook2,1 Intel Core 2 Duo

Have checked the settings with my ISP. The ISP says is uses protocol PPP0A.

my Mac keeps saying 'Could not find a PPPoE Server'. Having checked the Network Preferences all references seem to be do with PPPoE (not PPPoA)

does any one know how i can resolve this?

Sorry to be brutal, but you could start by changing ISP (avoid BT, Virgin, Orange & Tiscali)! ;)

Have you opened the router's control panel? You normally type something like http://192.1I6.O.1 in your web browser. I made up these numbers. Your router manual will give you the correct sequence.

You will be presented with a request for a username and password, which should come with your router manual. There you can change your router settings to PPPoA.
